The Taiji Primordial Stance is developed on the basis of the Wuji Natural Stance. Compared with the Wuji Natural Stance, when we practice the Primordial Stance, we try to fill our abdomen with qi, a form of air mixed with energy.
In the practice of the Primordial Stance, with the binding of the ribs and the abdomen, the two acupoints guanyuan and zhongji in the lower abdomen are restrained to absorb qi and shake the Mingmen acupoint. At the same time, using the sagging movements of the shoulders and elbows, we urge the arms to draw an arc from bottom to top and slowly lift them up to the level of the chest.
01 Secret of practice
Due to the loosening of our shoulders, the inward roll-up, and the sinking of the clavicle, the heart qi and the diaphragm sink to the zhongji acupoint of the lower abdomen to help our internal breath reunite, and shock the mingmen acupoint, making the inner sides of our arms (yin meridian) slightly inward. Wrap around the outside of the body to support the strength, forming a taiji state of inner support and outer support, inner circle and outer square, holding yin and embracing yang.
The palms are straight with loose fingers facing inward, and the ten fingertips are facing each other on the left and right. The qi mechanism between our nails means mutual penetration and mutual absorption.
Notice that the yintang acupoint (head), tanzhong acupoint (chest), and the zhongji acupoint (abdomen), and the baihui acupoint (head), laogong acupoint (palm) and yongquan acupoint (foot) are coordinated with breathing through your nose. This will bring the qi into the track of the chong meridian (connecting baihui acupoint with huiyin acupoint) to help to move the qi along.
At the same time, contract the anus so that air is not released downwards. When we are exhaling through our nose, the air is directed from the inside to the outside. The force of exhalation penetrates the tip joints, and the air penetrates the belly of the fingers (toes). When we are inhaling through our nose, it retreats and hides, the air is concentrated in our chest, making an endless circulation.
Over time, we will feel that our body has become agile and light instead of heavy. Our mind will sense images of qi movement and gathering, and the subliminal rotation of the middle qi, up and down without stopping.
This is what we try to achieve in our practice of the primordial stance. It will help to improve our bodily health.
However, we can develop it further if we want to go into the martial arts arena. If we can integrate this image with our martial arts training, add to them our movements and force, then a kind of vigorous, sensitive, extremely tough, and elastic hunyuan qi will be formed inside and outside our body and fill our whole body.
As the saying goes:
If you have fully mastered the hunyuan technique, you are not afraid of your opponent who knows all the kung fu actions.
02 From the past
For thousands of years, traditional martial arts have been passed along from generation to generation, from the sporadic and shining ancient times to the present day when a hundred flowers bloom.
What is the driving force that can make them continue and develop? Inner strength.
Inner strength is the essence of traditional martial arts, and the specific cultivation of inner strength is accomplished by the way of stance.
Standing skills are the basis of traditional martial arts internal training ability. Practitioners enter a relatively static state of consciousness through the use of thinking and consciousness during the stance, from which they can achieve the balance of yin and yang in the human body, open the meridians, reconcile qi and blood, and nourish the vitality, so as to achieve the purpose of strengthening the body and strengthening the vitality.
Only through the exercise in the primordial stance can the true energy in the body move freely, and through the application of the mental method can one enter a state of tranquility and achieve the state of the three-in-one of heaven, earth and man.
Among the numerous standing skill training methods, the Taiji primordial stance is the first to be the model. There are many schools of martial arts training with the name of taiji stance. However, although the name is the same, the actual content is different.
The general taiji posture emphasizes:
In the process of standing posture, it is necessary to adjust the body posture, relax the limbs, and eliminate the stiffness in the body.
03 To the Modern
01
The taiji primordial stance has the distinct ideological characteristics of modern bionics. The taiji primordial stance technique imitates a tree that is static outside and moving inside.
It emphasizes:
Use your mind to control your qi, use your qi to benefit your body, and you will achieve internal and external coordination and balance.
02
The practice of the taiji primordial stance technique is reputed to have a health efficacy on the central nervous system.
03
The taiji primordial stance practice is an aerobic static endurance exercise which is beneficial to metabolism and unobstructed qi and blood circulation. It also has an obvious health efficacy on knee joints.
04 The main functions
01
As a prerequisite for beginners to learn and practice taiji.
The primary psychological condition for learning and practicing taiji is: Physically relaxed. Mentally calm. Focusing mind.
Practicing the taiji primordial stance will make us mentally prepared for the hard work required to learn and practice taiji, especially in overcoming muscle soreness in our legs.
02
Faster adoption of the static force method.
When a practitioner learns taiji, his legs are almost always in a bent, half-squat position. This is known as the static force method of leg training. It usually takes a beginner some time to get used to it.
The taiji primordial stance practice has higher requirements on the static force of the legs than the taiji movements and routines. It will directly improve the ability of static force of the legs, shorten the adaptation period for beginners, and achieve the goal of practicing taiji as soon as possible.
As a result, the practitioner, in his practice of taiji, will exhibit:
Stand as solidly as a mountain, and step as stealthily as a cat.
03
Faster adoption of the morphological requirements.
When practicing taiji, the upper limbs and torso are required to maintain a certain shape (the term is called body shape), such as sinking shoulders, dropping elbows, holding chest, holding buttocks and so on. These upper body and trunk postures are often unconscious and infrequent in our everyday life. To make it conscious and maintain our posture during the practice of taiji, the practice of taiji primordial stance is a good way to start.
In the practice of taiji primordial stance, our body posture is relatively static when standing, we can consciously experience and maintain these special postures, laying a solid foundation for learning and mastering the correct posture and movements of taiji.
