The Taiji Primordial Stance

In our previous article, we have introduced The Natural Stance for beginners to practice for body wellness. In this article, we will introduce the Primordial Stance for beginners to practice for body wellness.

The Taiji Primordial Stance is a more advanced form of stance compared with the Natural Stance. If you intend to practice the Primordial Stance, you should go back and practice the Natural Stance first, if you have not already done it.

The Taiji Primordial Stance is also known as the Taiji Hunyuan Stance. The emphasis of the practice is on guiding our hunyuan qi, or the hunyuan energy.

What is hunyuan qi?

Once we were born, our body came with the hunyuan qi. The hunyuan qi of the human body is a mixture of natural qi that we were born with, coupled with acquired qi from nutrients from foods and water we eat, mixed with the aura of heaven, earth, and all things in nature. To put it simply, we use the aura of heaven, earth, people, and all things in Nature, so as to achieve harmony with the Nature of heaven and earth, and follow the law of yin and yang to live the life of Nature.

With the practice of the Primordial Stance, we seek to achieve a harmony between our body and Nature, thus we hope to achieve longevity with the practice. Here is our method of practicing the Primordial Stance.

Practicing the Primordial Stance

01 Posture

Stand naturally with feet shoulder-width apart.

Bent your legs slightly, as if sitting on a high stool.

Push your head up slightly with your chin retracted. Lower your tail and retract your buttocks. Your feet are parallel flat on the ground. The fingers of both hands are facing each other, three inches apart, making a circle in front of your chest as if you are hugging a big balloon.

The tip of your tongue touches your upper palate with a smile on your face. Your eyes are slightly closed, leaving only a slit, looking towards your lower abdomen as in the diagram below.

02 Mind and breathing

At this time, you use your mind to induce your body to produce a feeling of heat, numbness, swelling and twitching, which is called the qi sensation in the practice of the technique. You choose the tips of both of your middle fingers to start the process. It is where the zhongchong acupoint is located.

You are asked to choose the zhongchong acupoint to start because your hand is the most sensitive part of your body, and the zhongchong acupoint on your fingertip is the hub of connecting the jueyin pericardium meridian of your hand to the pericardium of your heart. The heart governs your mind. Thus using the zhongchong acupoint will reach your heart and your mind the fastest way.

Thus this is the best way for you to practice this technique. First, your mind will go into concentration quickly. Second, it is the fastest way for you to feel the qi sensation. This is key to your practice. In case you are wondering where the zhongchong acupoint is, refer to the diagram before.

After finding this acupoint (one on each hand), you start to tell yourself that the hunyuan qi is moving towards the zhongchong acupoint. After a while, you will really feel that your zhongchong acupoint gradually becomes hot, numb, swollen or twitching. Everyone’s sensation is different, some are hot, some are numb, some are swollen, and some are throbbing, or a combination of these.

After you have induced the qi sensation to your zhongchong acupoint, you now start to imagine that your whole middle finger is hot, numb, swollen or twitching.

After that, the sensation will reach all your fingers, then your hands, your arms, your torso, your head, your legs, and eventually your whole body. It includes all the muscles, bones and internal organs of the whole body which will have a sensation of hot, numb, swollen, or twitching. You may pay special attention to previous lesions of your body.

In this way, you have achieved your initial success. All the old diseases of the past will be wiped away at this time. Hopefully, you will not be fated to see your physician for a few years unless he is your bridge partner.

03 Return to the Natural state

After reaching this state, you may now enter the last stage of your practice. Now you do not have to consciously induce your mind. You may now return to the original Natural stage from which you come.

All you have to do is to stand naturally, and you will be returned to the state of unity between Man and Nature in the virtual realm. As long as you persist in your practice every day, your whole body will be rejuvenated. Your longevity will be increased. It is not your fantasy but the truth.
