John had engaged in building a health foundation for several years. He advised young people to engage in building a health foundation in order to have a healthy body for a long time, without sickness and illness.
His good friend Mark who was fifty two years old wanted to know whether it was too late for him to build a health foundation.
Mark’s friend Robin said that it was better late than never.
John said there were four things he did to build a youthful health foundation. One, he practiced deep breathing. Two, he practiced breath holding. Three, he practiced solitary seating. Fourth, he practiced mind control. He built a youthful health foundation in one hundred days. He practiced sex abstinence while building health foundation.
Robin was surprise to know that a practitioner had to forego sex for one hundred days. John explained that it was advisory, not a necessity. Less sex is more healthy for the body, especially for a young man.
John explained that each person might have to practice for a longer or shorter period of time. It varies from person to person depending on the body constitution of each person. After one hundred days, the body will adjust to the new conditions, and the person would benefit from all his practices.

Youthful Health Foundation Benefits
The good results of a youthful health foundation would be obvious after one hundred days. However, one must do it on a daily basis without interruption.
One, with total immersion in the practice, our body will become strong and healthy. We will have a very strong immune system. You will not get sick easily.
Two, we will have a very strong concentration power.
Three, we will be used to deep breathing as it becomes natural to us.
Fourth, our breathing will become smooth, even, slow, easy, and long.
Fifth, we will have improved our temper. We will slow down and we will not short our temper. We will be more tolerant and we will be nice to other people.
Sixth, the lower part of our body, especially our naval portion, will become warm, as if we are at the point of ejaculation.
Once we have achieved these results, we have built a strong youthful health foundation.
It may take us more or less than one hundred days to achieve these results, depending on our body constitution. Once we have achieved these results, we may stop here. If we keep on practicing, we will get permanent health.
As practitioners of life cultivation, some of us may go on to the next stage of practice and we will achieve more than just body health.
The Five Banned Activities
In order to maintain a healthy body, we as practitioners of life cultivation, recognize that certain activities will produce unhealthy results. We will always guard against them.
Prolonged sightings will interfere with our blood circulation. Prolonged lying down will interfere with our energy circulation. Prolonged sitting down will hurt our muscles. Prolonged standing will make our bones suffer. Prolonged walking will hurt our ligaments. This is summarized as the five activities that will cause body suffering.
How long is a prolonged activity? Again, it varies from person to person. When we sit in front of a computer, it may take one to two hours to feel a sore muscle. Once we detect that, we should cease the activity, and do some stretching exercises to recover from sore muscles.
An older person should not walk too long although walking is encouraged, especially if he is suffering from joint pain, especially knee problems.
