Clear the energy path for a healthy body

As practitioners of Life Cultivation, we seek to have a healthy body so that we will live a long life without illness and medication.

We learn that there are two energy paths or meridians that are very important to us. The path in front of our body is called the Ren Meridian which runs from our face to our scrotum. The path in the back of our body is called the Du Meridian which runs from the top of our head to our anus.

If these two meridians are open, all the other meridians will also be open, which in turn will improve our physical fitness, strengthen our muscles and bones, and prolong our life. Most martial arts practitioners also seek to open up the two meridians for inner strength and physical health.

01 The Du Meridian

Some of us may have a dizzy head, stiff neck, bruised knuckles and overall discomfort. This is a result of our Du Meridian at the back of our body being blocked, leading to our yang-energy failing to rise. The proper remedy is to unblock the Du Meridian.

02 The Ren Meridian

A blocked Ren Meridian will show the following symptoms.

01 Hiccups and acid reflux, belching, vomiting, and fullness of stomach due to persistent stomach-energy.

02 Distending pain in the head and face, red eyes and swollen eyes due to hyperactivity of liver-energy.

03 Migraine headache due to gallbladder fire.

04 Constipation due to weak intestine-energy.

05 Male urination shows leaking.

06 The female menstrual cycle shows abnormality and irregularity.

07 All other problems from the throat to the anus that are related to energy-stagnancy.

03 The solutions – bowing

Now that we have identified the problems, the solution is not far off, right? All we need to do is to unblock the two meridians.

There are several methods to unblock them. The first method is to rely on medicine. The second method is to employ the Mustang Dietary Technique. The third method is to practice the various Mustang Cultivation Techniques.

However, there is a very simple solution that we can practice in our daily life. Doing this exercise often will not only keep the symptoms at bay but also keep the body healthy and interpersonal relationships in harmony.

This method is bowing.

There are two acupuncture methods that can quickly solve this problem, but bowing is much simpler, though not as effective.

When we bow to a person, we will lower our head. Once the head is lowered, the energy path or the Ren Meridian in front of the body will automatically be open and energy flows downwards towards the scrotum. At the same time, the energy path or the Du Meridian at the back of the body will be unblocked and the energy flows upwards towards the head.

04 The bowing action

It’s good to bow like this.

You can bow to your wife to thank her for managing the family. You can bow to your husband to thank him for his hard work in protecting the family. You can bow to your parents to thank them for raising you. You can bow to your teachers to thank them for guiding you in your study. You can bow to anyone to thank him for sharing your destiny in life.

After bowing, many people feel that the original obstruction of chest tightness is suddenly lost, and a heat current rises from the lumbosacral region behind the back. Symptoms such as a stiff neck and back, back pain, hiccups, belching, sore mouth, chest tingling, abdominal fullness, swelling and so on will improve.

There is another added benefit. When a husband bows to his wife to thank her, some of the wives are about to cry. It is not easy for a woman to manage the housework and take care of the elderly and children. When a husband bows to his wife to express appreciation, there will be no more argument on right and wrong. When he bows, everything is settled.

A husband and wife should be of one mind. They jointly organize a family. They are in the same boat of life, riding the wind and waves in the sea of life. Their goals and directions should be the same.

05 The Way

Nowadays, many people, with their chests upright and their necks held high, never bow their heads. However, the more knowledgeable and accomplished people are, the more modest they should be and the more they should bow their heads.

In a hundred years or thirty-six thousand days, we will be in sorrow or in sickness.

It says that after all, there are always unsatisfactory things in life. If you don’t like it, you will be depressed. If someone else makes a move to anger you, your breath will be stuck in your chest, and your energy flow will not be smooth. Therefore the more you fight for contention, the more you will be blocked by others.

As a result, there are more and more cases of hiccups, acid reflux, belching, and unabated stomach-energy blocked. Sometimes the gall-energy will rise with the stomach-energy and leave a bitter taste in our mouth all day long. People with esophageal cancer and gastric cancer will choke while eating, which is also a manifestation of energy flow not going the right way.

In the classic book Journey to the West, Tang monk went to the west to get Buddhist scriptures, and he went through eighty-one hardships, including the temptation of money, the temptation of beautiful women, and the temptation of fame and fortune. He did not give up the goal of obtaining the scriptures, and finally he accomplished his goal.

Similarly, the formation of a family is the same. Two people are in love, which is a good thing, and eventually they get married and grow old together. They also need to go through eighty-one hardships.

When the wife is sick, the husband has to stay together. When the husband becomes wealthy, they should share the wealth and live a luxurious life together. When the husband is poor, they should live a simple life without separation. The husband can’t be promiscuous when he is rich.

Husbands and wives not only support each other for a lifetime, but they should support each other in their separate practice in life. When families are harmonious, people will be healthy, and the society will be healthy.

Thus, if we bow often, it will open up the Ren Meridian and the Du Meridian so as to make us healthy. It will also direct us to a harmonious family and society. This is what we call The Way.
