
The Qiyang set of tuina, or massage applies to the whole body practiced in the morning so that we will feel energized the whole day.
In a previous article, we have discussed massage applied to the eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and face. Here we will continue to discuss massage applied to the neck, the chest, the hand, the waist, and the legs and feet. We will also cover the topic of massage of the scalp.
Now let us move to learn about the practice of Qiyang, the awakening of the things that are positive. It is easy to practice. It takes only ten minutes per session. It will benefit our body and mind. We will waste no energy.
Here we go.

06 Massage of the Neck
1 Rub your palms until warm.
2 First massage the front of your neck. Spread the fingers of your left palm and place it on the top of your front neck, with the thumb pointing to the left and the fingers to the right. Move your palm from top to bottom to massage thirty six times. Now switch to the right palm and repeat for thirty six times.
3 Now massage the back of the neck. Spread the fingers of your right palm and place it on top of the back neck, with fingers close. Move the palm from top to bottom to massage thirty six times. Now switch to the left palm and repeat for thirty six times.
4 It will improve blood and energy circulation to the neck. It will improve your stiff neck.
07 Massage of the chest
1 Rub your palms until warm.
2 Place the palms of both hands on the left and right chests.
3 Press down and do circular motions so that the left and right chests have the feeling of vibration. Do it thirty six times.
4 It will improve the chest, lungs and respiratory system.


08 Massage of the hands
1 Rub your palms until warm.
2 Use your right palm to massage the back of your left hand thirty six times.
3 Use your left palm to massage the back of your right hand thirty six times.
4 Hold your left wrist with your right hand and turn the wrist to massage the wrist for thirty six times.
5 Hold your right wrist with your left hand and turn the wrist to massage the wrist for thirty six times.
6 It will improve the flexibility of the hands and wrists and the liver.
09 Massage of the waist
1 Rub your palms until warm.
2 Expose your waist so it is naked.
3 Place your palms on the back of the waist and massage thirty six times.
4 Alternatively, you may use your knuckles for massage instead of your palm. You have to use force to massage for this particular movement.
5 It helps to improve your back, waist, and kidney.

10 Massage of the legs
1 Sit on a chair.
2 Rub your palms until warm.
3 Place your palms on your knees. Massage the knees with circular motion for thirty six times.
4 Next, use your hands to find an outside point 2.5 inches below your knees. You can see that the muscle at this point is slightly depressed. Also you will feel pain if you apply force to the point. Rub the points for thirty six times. You may use your thumbs to apply force to the points thirty times instead of rubbing.
5 It will improve your walking stamina.


11 Massage of the scalp
1 Use a wooden comb to comb your hair eighty one times. Make sure the comb does not have sharp points to injure the scalp.
2 Make sure the comb is touching the scalp. The main aim is to stimulate the scalp, not just to comb the hair.
3 Do this in the morning when combing your hair.
4 As an alternative, you may use the thumbs to massage the scalp for thirty six times. However, it is much easier to use a comb instead.
5 You may also do the scalp massage when you are shampooing. Some beauty salons offer such massages. Take the offer.
6 This technique will stimulate the scalp. Blood and energy will flow to the head. It will help to wake up the body so that the person will feel energetic. Graying of the hair will be reduced.
Do the massage in a relaxed mood. Do not think about things to be finished. Do not think random thoughts. Think about it as the only thing that is worth doing at that moment. Do it with focus. Then you will reap the intended benefits.
