Foods the Colorful

As practitioners of life cultivation, we make it a rule to eat plenty of vegetables. Some of us become vegetarians who do not eat meat. Some of us pay attention to eating vegetables of different colors, green, yellow, red, purple, black, and white. They have different nutrients, and different colors are equivalent to labeling different sources of nutrients. Many of us try to eat red, yellow, and green vegetables not less than fifty grams per meal.

Why do we do that?

01 Green vegetable

It is rich in VA, VC, VB1, VB2, carotene and various trace elements. Green vegetables give people the feeling of being bright, fresh and delicious. These vegetables have a certain sedative effect on high blood pressure and insomnia, and are beneficial to the liver. Its protein content is twice that of ordinary fruits and vegetables, and its Ca and Fe content is high, which has the functions of reducing blood viscosity, lowering blood pressure, protecting blood vessels and enhancing immunity.

02 Yellow vegetable

There are yellow bell peppers, pumpkins, carrots and gourds, etc. It is rich in VE, can reduce skin pigmentation, delay aging, is beneficial to spleen, pancreas and other organs, and can regulate gastrointestinal digestive function. Yellow vegetables are also rich in carotene, which can regulate the growth and differentiation of epithelial cells. It is unique in anti-cancer, and may inhibit tumor growth.

03 Red vegetable

There are tomatoes, red peppers and carrots etc. Red vegetables contain large amounts of carotene and lycopene, which together with other red pigments in red tomatoes can enhance the vitality of cells in the body’s immune tissues. Therefore, eating more red vegetables can improve the body’s ability to prevent and resist colds, and is good for the heart and intestines.

04 Purple vegetable

The most notable purple vegetable is eggplant. The vitamin P content is higher, and the protein and calcium content of eggplant are 3.8 times and 2.75 times higher than those of tomatoes, respectively. The difference between purple vegetables and other vegetables is that they contain higher vitamin P in natural foods.

Vitamin P is one of the 14 essential vitamins in the human body. It can enhance the adhesion between human cells, improve the elasticity of blood vessels, prevent brittle blood vessels and bleeding, and maintain the normal shape of blood vessels.

Therefore, it has the effect of protecting blood vessels and preventing bleeding, which can reduce the probability of cerebral vascular occlusion, improve blood circulation, and has a good effect on the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases.

It is beneficial to people with hypertension, hemoptysis, and skin purpura.

05 Black vegetable

There are black eggplants, kelp, black mushroom, black fungus and so on. Black foods are usually high in iron, and can stimulate the human endocrine and hematopoietic systems, promote the secretion of saliva, benefit the stomach and aid digestion.

06 White vegetable

There are lotus roots, bamboo shoots, white radish and so on. It gives people a clean and fresh feeling. After eating, it has a certain effect on regulating vision and stabilizing emotions. It is beneficial to people with hypertension and cardiomyopathy, and has the effect of moistening the lungs and reducing dryness.

Eating Vegetables

In Western culture, people mostly eat vegetables uncooked like in salad. Then it is relatively easy for them to eat vegetables of different colors. All they have to do is eat combination salad with different vegetables.

Most practitioners of life cultivation will eat foods cooked, including vegetables. In that case, they can eat mixed vegetable soup such as oxtail vegetable soups. They may also stir-fried various vegetables together and make a delicious dish.

The key point is to eat colorful foods everyday, not once in a while. Enjoy your food and enjoy life.
