People in ancient times who knew The Way will model the Yin and Yang, harmonize in calculation, eat in moderation, live a regulated life, equalize work and play, thus the body and mind co-exists in harmony, who will live to be one hundred years old and then die.

The first principle on longevity is to model our life according to the Universe.

The second principle on longevity is to harmonize our life with numbers and do good deeds.

The third principle on longevity is to control our foods and drinks.

The fourth principle on longevity is to regulate our daily lifestyle.

05 To stay healthy do not overextend ourselves

Should we strike a balance between labor and leisure? How should we allocate our energy between labor and leisure?

To stay healthy, we should devote our attention to the balance of labor and leisure.

We need to do labor. Period. There is no argument about it. The British noblemen are big landlords, they have many people working for them. Therefore, you argue, they do not have to do labor. You are wrong. The British noblemen will do horse riding. They play cricket. They do labor work, but in different forms.

Labor is now divided into physical labor and mental labor. Labor is a must, and we can’t be lazy and hate labor. However, labor must be done in moderation. If it is arbitrary, it is also a way to bring misfortune.

It is true now, in some cities such as Hong Kong and Seoul, where the pace of work is fast and the work pressure is very high. Many people are prone to overwork and they work too much. Is it a good thing?

I think everyone knows whether it is good to be overworked.

A report states that the rate of sudden death among successful entrepreneurs in their 40s is increasing year by year. This is the result of reckless labor. Therefore, OVERWORK is now a very important factor in health.

Here is a conversation between Confucius and Duke Ai.

Duke Ai asked Confucius: “Does a wise man live long? Does a benevolent man live long?”

Confucius replied: “Of course.”

Here longevity refers to being able to “exhaust one’s life, and one hundred years is gone.” A wise man or a benevolent man will be able to live to one hundred years old before he dies.

But Confucius went on to say: “Man brings on three kinds of death.”

Man’s three kinds of death are not fated, but as a result of his own actions. We often scold other people angrily: “Are you looking for death?” This is what Confucius meant by man brings on three kinds of death.

Which three?

We will mention only one here, because the second and third possibilities have little to do with our issues of health.

Confucius went on to say:

Sleep not at regular time. Foods and drinks not controlled. Labor works too much. Diseases will come, and together they will kill the man.

Do you understand what he was trying to say? He said that a man brings these three things upon himself. Therefore he died young before the age of one hundred. He has on one to blame but himself.

We think everyone knows how diseases come about. We also know that everyone knows what to do in order to solve the longevity problems. We also know that very few of us will do it right away.


We do not know the answer well. All we know is:

You are looking for death!
