The Anal Contraction and Urination Prevention Technique (ACUP)

As we age, sooner or later, both men and women will encounter embarrassing moments in our life.

What are the embarrassing happenings that we would rather not talk about?

It usually happens when we

  • cough
  • sneeze
  • laugh loudly
  • move heavy objects
  • run
  • go up and down stairs
  • and so on

Luckily for us, we can avoid those embarrassing moments with a technique called The Anal Contraction and Urination Prevention Technique (ACUP Technique).

We must keep this exercise skill in mind, practice it and share it.

It is also called the Kegel Exercise in some literature.

01 Symptoms

01 Involuntary urination

If we have overflowing urination when we perform the following exercises, we may apply the ACUP Technique to prevent it from happening.

  • cough
  • sneeze
  • laugh loudly
  • move heavy objects
  • run
  • go up and down stairs
  • and so on

02 Ventilation of energy flow

As practitioners of life cultivation, we use the ACUP Technique in conjunction with the Tuna (breathing) Technique to practice Qigong as part of our body maintenance and repair programs.

02 Health efficacies

The ACUP Technique, when properly learned and practiced on a long-term basis, may have a variety of health efficacies.

01 Involuntary urinating

It may prevent uterine prolapse, vaginal wall prolapse, cystocele, and prevent or treat hemorrhoids. It may also prevent vaginal infections, urinary tract infections, and pelvic inflammatory disease.

02 Body maintenance and repair

As practitioners of life cultivation, we practice this technique in conjunction with the Mustang Tuna Technique in the maintenance and repair of our body.

It may adjust our body constitution so that we will regain a balanced body constitution type. If our body organs are damaged, we may use this technique to repair the injured organs.

However, for this technique to have the health efficacies, we must have practiced the technique consistently for a long time, so that this movement is as natural as breathing, grows into the body, and becomes a daily habit.

03 The Practice

First find the pelvic floor muscle groups which include
When urinating, the muscles that quickly clamp the pee, and (2) When defecating, the group of muscles that control defecation.

Lift and retract the anus regularly, and then relax it. Lift and then relax, which is the anal contraction movement.

Extend the contraction time to ten seconds, twenty seconds, or even one minute. Then relax and repeat the cycle to strengthen the muscles.

At the same time, pay attention to contracting the muscles around the urethral opening, lower abdomen, and buttocks (to prevent urinating.)

04 In Brief Summary

Anal contraction exercise can effectively prevent and control uterine prolapse, vaginal bulge, urinary tract infection, perianal diseases.

In men, it may also prevent prostate diseases.

There is no effect in the short term. The effect will be obvious only if we persist everyday.

It is suitable for all ages, especially postpartum women and the elderly.

May this habit grow into your body and last a lifetime.
