Comprehensive secret guide 02
For maintenance and rejuvenation of our physical body, choice of drugs is our last resort.
Our first choice is usually the change of lifestyle because it is easy to do and it is what we do everyday.
Our second choice is food and eating habits which we call the Mustang Dietary Technique. This is relatively easy for us to do because we eat everyday so we might as well do it the right way.
The third choice is the use of qigong which we call the Mustang Tuna Technique, the Mustang Jingzuo Technique, the Mustang Ruding Technique, and the Mustang Shenzhan Technique. They are mostly used to improve our breathing, leading to an improvement in blood and vital energy circulation, resulting in a rejuvenation of our physical body and mental state.
In addition, we may use the following the six methods of treating illnesses commonly used in traditional herbal medicine, which are (1) bianstone method (2) acupuncture method, (3) moxibustion method, (4) massage method, (5) daoyin method and (6) medicines method,. Some of these methods we will learn and practice on our own, but most of them we will seek a professional person to help us.
01 The bianstone method refers to treating illnesses with bianstone. Bianstone is one of the oldest medical tools used in China. At the beginning, ordinary stones were mainly used to tap the affected area to relieve pain. Later, a medical-specific stone tool, namely bianstone, appeared, and was widely used for cutting pustules and puncturing subcutaneous vascular bloodletting and other purposes.
02 The acupuncture method is a treatment method that uses metal needles to stimulate certain parts of the human body to achieve the purpose of dredging numbness and activating blood circulation, relieving pain and eliminating carbuncle.
03 The moxibustion method uses the heat of the moxibustion fire to provide warm stimulation to people, and achieve the purpose of curing illnesses through the action of meridians and acupoints. The main material of moxibustion is moxa, and other medicines are also used for moxibustion.
04 The massage method is a treatment method that uses the hands or feet to massage the patient. Massage is mainly used to relax muscles and activate blood circulation, and treat illnesses. We call this the Mustang Tuina Technique.
05 The daoyin method includes qigong and physical therapy. It is mainly a physical and mental exercise method to strengthen the body, prevent and treat illnesses by exercising the limbs and regulating breathing. This method is incorporated into our Mustang Tuna Technique, Mustang Tuina Technique, and Mustang Shenzhen Technique.
06 The medicines method is a method of treating illnesses through various traditional herbal medicines. Nowadays It is also the most widely used traditional herbal medicine treatment method. However, in our holistic approach to wellness, this is our last resort.
If all else fails, we may apply one of the specialized methods.
Another way of classifying traditional herbal methods of treating illnesses is (1) techniques that we perform using our hands such as the Mustang Tuina Technique and the Mustang Shenzhan Technique, and (2) techniques that we perform using our inner vital energy such as the Mustang Tuna Technique, the Mustang Jingzuo Technique, and the Mustang Shenzhan Technique.
02 Stomach maintenance and lifestyle changes
This involves changes in lifestyle, especially in the area of what food to eat, how we eat them, and what time we eat them, and so on.
01 Food should be warm and dry
The spleen likes dryness and hates dampness. It likes hotness and hates coldness. Therefore, to nourish the spleen, you should eat warm and dry food.
For example, most of the spices commonly used in our kitchen are warm and dry, so they also have the effect of nourishing the spleen, such as purple cardamom, amomum, nutmeg, cinnamon, cloves, pepper, aniseed, cumin, woody, angelica dahurica, ginger, dried ginger and so on.
The spleen is characterized as earth, so you need to eat more rustic foods, such as sweet potatoes and yams that grow underground.
The spleen likes warmth and hates coolness, so it needs warm food for nourishment. The spleen color is yellow, so it needs yellow food for nourishment. Millet is yellow, which nourishes the spleen effectively.
02 Do not overeat raw or cold food
Children should be careful not to overeat raw or cold food since childhood, including a lot of fruits, cold drinks, and cold water because they will damage the yang-energy associated with the spleen. And the best snacks for children are maltose and crispy rice.
Some people worry about whether eating roasted food will cause the body to overheat. To solve the dilemma, you should wait for the food to cool down before eating it.
People with spleen deficiency may drink ginger and brown sugar water in the morning, which helps to warm the spleen and raise the yang-energy.
03 Eat less foods that will increase coldness of your body
Avoid eating foods that will increase the coldness of your body such as bitter gourd, laver, banana, persimmon, watermelon, eggplant, herbal tea and so on. Although you may forgo the pleasure of eating such foods, it is very worthwhile for you to gain health.
04 Porridge
It is recommended to eat more porridge. Porridge can be directly converted into energy and blood without increasing the burden on the spleen and stomach, and it can also be understood as invigorating the spleen indirectly. And don’t forget that porridge nourishes the stomach.
05 Chew slowly
The finer the food, the better. The finer the food, the lighter the burden on the stomach and intestines, and the easier it is to transform them into energy and blood. Therefore, if time permits, it is recommended that you chew slowly when eating, because chewing slowly can not only chew the food as much as possible to facilitate digestion, but also make you continuously produce saliva. The water from the upper spring is the best medicine in the world for invigorating the spleen and stomach.
06 Fragrance benefits the spleen
Once the fragrance enters the spleen, it can (1) wake up the spleen, (2) dry the dampness in our body, and (3) make the spleen comfortable. Stir-fried food has the effect of nourishing the spleen, such as fried peanuts and melon seeds.
Furthermore, when the rice or pasta is baked into a half-burnt and half-baked state, it has a fragrance and can also nourish the spleen.
Some children like to eat cornbread or steamed buns baked to a burnt yellow on the side of the pot. They probably naturally know that this food strengthens the spleen. Furthermore, the bread baked into golden yellow is burnt and crispy, which should be something that nourishes the spleen.
07 Laughter is the best gift
Laughter is the best gift for the spleen and stomach.
When a person is angry, resentful, or anxious, the stomach is as congested and red as the face.
When a person is sad, depressed, or melancholy, the stomach becomes pale, the secretion of gastric juice is insufficient, and the activity is reduced.
Herbal medicine also believes that bad emotions will affect the regulating function of the liver, which in turn will affect the spleen and stomach.
It can be seen that learning to laugh is the best gift for the spleen and stomach.
