As practitioners of life cultivation, we tuina (aka massage) our fingers, palm, hand, and wrist to do maintenance and repair of our body. There is no special equipment needed. There is no new knowledge to be learned. It is easy to practice. We can do it while watching television programs.
We know that our hands are related to internal organs, especially the liver. Thus, the hand exercise will first benefit our liver and other related organs.
There are many tuina exercises that are related to our hands. We will discuss some of them here.
01 Hand exercises to help with fatigue
01 Extend your hands in front of you with palms up. Hit the edge of your palms against each other forcefully thirty six times.
02 Flip your hands so that your palms are now facing down. Bend your thumbs and hit the edge of your palms against each other forcefully thirty six times.
03 Curl the fingers of your left hand into a fist. Hit the center of the open palm of your right hand forcefully thirty six times. Now change hands. Hit the center of the open palm of your left hand forcefully thirty six times.
04 Now use your left fist to hit the back of the palm of your right hand forcefully thirty six times. Now change hands. Hit the back of the palm of your left hand forcefully thirty six times.
05 Now hit your fist against each other horizontally and forcefully for thirty six times.
06 Now hit your left fist against your right fist vertically and forcefully for thirty six times. Now change hands. Hit your right fist against your left fist vertically and forcefully thirty six times.
07 Now extend your hands in front of you with one palm up and one palm down. Bend your thumbs and hit the edge of your palms against each other forcefully thirty six times. Now exchange hands and repeat thirty six times.
08 Cover your eyes with your hands so that you are in the dark. Roll your eyeballs clockwise thirty six times, and then counter-clockwise thirty six times.
09 Use your hands to pull your earlobe thirty six times.
Do we make you confused now? Good. Do this exercise two to three times a day.
This exercise will reduce your fatigue. It will increase your blood and energy circulation. It will protect your eyes against early degeneration. It will relieve you from headache. It will reduce your chance of having a cold. It will refresh your energy. What more do you want just by doing some hand exercises?
02 Hand exercise to eliminate fatigue
01 Extend the fingers of your hands up and facing each other.
02 Clap your hands forcefully for five to ten minutes, or until your palm is red.
03 Do it early in the morning, or when you feel tired.
This exercise will increase blood circulation. It will smooth the path of energy circulation. It will restore your body to health. It will reduce fatigue.
03 Palm acupressure to reduce fatigue
As practitioners of life cultivation, we have discussed foot massage before. Now we will discuss hand massage. Just like foot massage, our hand has many acupressure points that are related to various organs. The stimulation of the acupressure points will activate our body functions.
You locate the appropriate acupressure point, and apply force to each of them. You use your fingers to apply the pressure as much as you can. You will usually feel pain while you are doing this. Do not give up. Keep the pressure on for about three minutes. You do it point by point.
However, as a beginner, do not try to locate the exact pressure points. It is not necessary. Just apply pressure to the approximate areas. You will feel pain if you apply pressure to the correct points.
